A Rangers Under 19 team failed to beat a stubborn Point side at Garrabost last night (Monday). The Glasgow youngsters were in Lewis to celebrate the official opening of the new Point playing surface and social area, a duty that went to former Ibrox heroes John Greig and Ronnie Mackinnon.
The match, played in pouring rain and watched by around 500 supporters, was played in a good spirit, and although the better side, Rangers by no means outplayed the Rudhachs.
They went ahead on 55 minutes through Steven Forbes, but their lead was cancelled a minute later by Ally Mackay.
Despite a late barrage on Alex Wright's goal, Point held on to achieve a memorable result in their first game on the new surface.
